Limited Release - Rwanda Abadatezuka
Our first coffee under the Limited Release Series banner comes from the western province of Rwanda: a remarkable lot produced by the Abadatezuka Co-op in Nsinduke Village and sourced through our partners at Cafe Imports.
In the cup, expect a vibrant profile that bridges some of our favorite coffees. It shares the brightness of Ethiopia Ardi and the chocolate depth of Uganda Rwenzori, while offering its own distinctive character: cranberry at the forefront, layered with notes of grape, red plum, and delicate hibiscus florals. Amongst our team the note of a fancy candy bar has become synonymous with this coffee!
Nestled between Lake Kivu and the Nyungwe Forest, coffee farms in the Cyato sector sit at elevations of 1,850–2,200 MASL, creating the ideal conditions for slow cherry maturation and exceptional bean density. The region’s rich soils, native pollinators, and zero synthetic inputs come together to express this coffee's unique profile. As this is the first time we have had the pleasure of roasting a coffee from Rwanda, we are eagerly awaiting impressions of your first sip!
