Black Joy

Black Joy is creativity. Black Joy is community. Black joy
is a commitment to racial equality that heals.

Inspired by this vision, we’ve partnered with A Long Walk Home to celebrate their 20th anniversary of using art to end violence against Black girls and women. Founded by two African-American sisters, Salamishah and Scheherazade Tillet, the organization’s main program, The Girl/Friends Leadership Institute, empowers hundreds of Black middle-and-high-school-aged girls through photography, poetry, and performing arts so they can create spaces of joy for themselves and other Black girls to live in a world free of violence.

To support A Long Walk Home, $3 from every bag sold will be donated towards sustaining its innovative art and healing programs for Black girls and gender-expansive youth.
